HOW TO KEEP ROMANCE IN A RELATIONSHIP
By Elisa Douglas
Romance is different for everyone, but most people will agree on the basics. First, it instills peace on an inner level. Second, it quite often is much better shared with someone you love! Romantic dates vary because everyone’s idea of romance is different but whatever works for you and your partner, is how to keep romance in a relationship for you!
We find it equally romantic to go kayaking or to the theatre for an evening out as we do to sit under the stars and quietly wonder or watch a sunset while sharing thoughts. A great date is not only for singles dating each other, but also for married couples needing a night out from the kids or simply to get away from their daily routines.
The ingredients for a great date does not necessarily include having to spend a lot of money, but it does include a man or woman you enjoy being with and thoughtfulness of them and their wants and needs. Simple ingredients!
IMPORTANCE OF ROMANCE IN RELATIONSHIPS
No matter what form it takes on in your life, romance creates the opportunity for bonding and communication. Often this communication is unspoken, but is understood mutually. This is a vital part of any love relationship and will help you maintain a healthy connection with your lover or spouse, therefore supporting the importance of romance in relationships.
We promote romance so strongly because it is so important. It is easy to mix into any situation and doesn’t have to cost a dime. Keep in mind that everyone loves to feel as though the person they are with truly loves them and wants to be with them. They probably love romantic surprises, too!
Romantic gestures are not just for men and women who are dating, either. They are for everyone, especially married couples who need to reconnect on a daily basis. Regardless if they are the small gestures and acts of kindness or the bigger, more spectacular events that require more planning, investment and energy…we encourage it all because we know how much it is appreciated and stimulates a healthy relationship.
TIPS FOR A GREAT DATE
How to make a date romantic? What to do for a date? Okay, first, don’t worry so much about these two questions. These details work themselves out quickly and naturally if you focus on the individual with whom you have the date and think about them when planning what you’ll be doing and treating them with respect goes a long way toward being romantic!
- Great dates start with sparks of interest. Spend time dating people you are actually interested in getting to know better!
- Consider the other person and their hobbies and interests. Try to arrange a date that will show them you are thinking of them and have been listening to them when they talk about what they like to do.
- Choose an activity that fits within their interests and allows you to participate with them to encourage fun bonding opportunities for both of you.
- If going to dinner, choose a place that is quiet enough for conversation, rather than a loud environment. Of course, if this is not your first or second date, then maybe the event is more important than conversation now that you’ve spent some time together getting to know each other.
- Ladies, let the men be gentlemen if you wish to be treated like a lady.
